StarCruise Libra candy

If you have th
e chance to go on a cruise while in Singapore, StarCruise is not a bad choice. They have great food, show and I love how clean and professional they are. They still have a long way to go before become a luxurious cruise, but it is budget friendly and any family can enjoy. We took the KL-Phuket cruise. We touch the Phuket land, but not KL since we thought we've been there before so why bother, the Phuket trip is a bit rough on the edges since during heavy rain we need to wait more than an hour in rain to wait for our boat to come to get us to the ship, and yes, it's in the middle of the night.

The good news is, that's the only bad thing happen to us during the whole trip, so I give 4 out of 5 star.

The view of the beach in Phuket during sunset is really lovely, I see many Caucasian tourists here and I see they have a comfortable life here since everything here is in a relaxed atmosphere and a lot cheaper than their own country.

Many passengers I talked to said SuperStar Virgo is better, so perhaps someday instead of taking another Libra, I will choose Virgo.

Oh Mr. Sun, Sun, Mr. Golden Sun...

I loveeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee it, it's the best SPF I ever know. I bought it during my monthly facial time, this time it's in Babelicious, I got a 2x40$ voucher from Cozycot so I don't want to waste it and use it right away (because they got exp date too this
Dec'09). I get Ready for the Oscar treatment which consist of microdermabation and I top up 10$ for a very cold mask. I like the idea of non pushy sales and the calm environment, but I don't really like when the beautician face is too close during the treatment, I can smell her breath, it's kind a yucky for me, just like what my dentist do, yucky.Too close for comfort.

But there's still a lot of plus sign I found in Babelicious such as, quiet environment, hot electric blanket, and relaxed atmosphere. Most of all a very good quality product like my water-based SPF 50 sun block that cost $34, a well worth price.

Thank you InSing.com

I love making review, it's just my calling. So when inSing.com having a competition for doing reviews for their website I'm jumping with joy, I meant with hot plaster. I use them almost everyday due to hours in front of my computer daily, making hundreds of reviews. I went to restaurants, shops, anything and get my personal experience for my reviews. Some of them are fresh, some of them are digging result (memory digging). The result are clear, a sore and aching shoulder even at night during bedtime. But I'm not giving up, I've give my best and I got the 3rd prize, iPhone 3G, I'm so happy and jumping with joy again thinking that my hard work effort can be paid off.

I'm so over the top when I first using the iPhone, clueless and kind a careless, I'm just really happy. Until just a month during usage I got a hair raising bill and really not happy about it, the data usage is exorbitant. Be sure to change the data usage, turning off the 3G is not enough. And my first glitz, the email page could not be open so I have to contact the technical support, all I have to do is reset the phone and voila! It went back on and fine, another glitz couple weeks later, where somehow the wi-fi refuse to connect and I read at their forum many many ehm many other fellow iPhone user complain the same problem, oh no! I think I'm in a big problem, but just a day after it fixed by itself leaving me worry for nothing, I guess having pricey stuff required bigger heart, I meant a heart that is strong enough and money to solve the problems it bring, bummer.

Hmm warm and soft

It's so good and sweet and it's just delicious. This cube bread is a new addition from Four Leaves bread, it comes in 2 flavors. A custard and a chocolate custard, my favorite is this sweet white custard. Better to eat it while it's still warm, the wonderful smell of fresh baked bread is a plus sign that increase the appetite gazillion times more.

What so great about this new bread is the design, design?? yup, it's clever! The custard is protected not exposed so the oozing aroma stays inside until you take a bite and feel the juice of custard from within. I can't have more, I need more, I want more....please.

A kiss or not to kiss

I still remember my first kiss, it's not as romantic and lovely as I want it to. In fact it is a beginning of a nightmare. Wrong person, wrong time, and most of all wrong person. A top playboy that think he is a know it all that actually knows nothing about love and sincerity. I guess not all people know what's the meaning of caring another person. Yes, love is a quest, a process, a journey, whatever you may put it, it is not the end, it is a beginning. We have to observe, learn, adapt, sometime even let our heart get broken and hurt in the process to found that perfect someone. But in the end it is worth every effort. Love is kind, protecting, forgiving, understanding and bearing everything, it's non conditional, and sincere.

We may have to go many unexpected series in life, my suggestion? Enjoy the ride and keep it cool, some thing not worth a fuss while the thing that we are waiting for will come by it self in the right time. Just like The Princess and the Frog from Disney newest collection.

Catch The Princess and the Frog in cinemas 10th December 2009

WHYYYYYYYYY

why do you guys have to make it so yummy? I'm not try to complain really! But really every time I go to Paragon, I'll be sure to visit this food shop that not only sells pasta (as their main) but pizza, lasagna, delicious cakes, cupcakes and meringue. The colorful original one, I dislike the almond-more colorful-more new taste. It's the original sugar with white egg that really hit my sweet spot with Ooh :)

Must Try: Their chocolate banana cake, fancy cupcakes which I found worthy every penny (ehm dollar), and their pasta sauce.

Kids: You'll love the pasta even more with Disney character shapes like princess, pooh or Mickey and friends

Between Tiger and the other

For me traveling is a delicacies in life where one thing for sure it is a privilege to be able to see different kind of culture and people. Indeed, like food some people have different taste so it's not for everyone. But back to me and me only, I love traveling and very grateful to be able to do so.

Nowadays traveling just getting easy and cheaper by the day, ups sorry by 6 months ahead. Yup it's a well known secret using budget airline and getting a steal deal means planning ahead, way ahead sometime.

So far I fly with Tiger, Jet/Valuair, and Airasia. Destination from Bangkok, Jakarta, Kuala Lumpur and (not) beyond... as long it is still in South East Asia Region, why? with those stiff chair more than 3 and a half hour is a torture with capital T.

Okay, here's the ugly part, for me the first flight that get my star is Tiger Air, it's more comfortable and the price in urgent time in need is more valuable (as in CHEAPO) than the others, but Jet/Valueair also being competitive almost same price and get free a glass of water and a snack (like muffin/bread). So yup, for me AirAsia holding the lowest score, why?

1. On a 40 minute flight to KL I killed 2 flies with the safety manual, they seriously bothering me.
2. On a flight back to Singapore I killed another 2 flies inside the cabin.
3. No snack or drinks free on board and we are not allowed to eat our picnic basket meal.
4. Tiger and Jet/Valueair stewardess is prettier heehee.

BUT

if I happen to know what destination and date of preference I wanna go in the next 6-12 months, they price often unbeatable. Keep improving AirAsia!

yummy grapes from Taiwan

I love grapes, like really lurrvesssss grapes, I think grapes are the best juicy sweet tasty fruit that just perfect for me. No need cutting, no mess, and hassle free. I've tried many different types, crimson, red grapes green, black, purple, deep purples and many many moreee so far this one is the tastiest one. It's got chewiness, not as chewy as Korean grapes but chewy enough for me beside the skin is not as sour as Korean grapes.

Taiwan Ruby grapes are refreshing in a hot days like these and brings all the goodness of fruit, fibers, vitamins and natural anti-oxidant.But wait a second there, don't just gulp them down yet, they do have seed, if it is seedless their score is 10/10 as in perfect :)

Hmm to good and too sweet

But I like it, I really, really like it. All of the ingredients are not like I see in other soaps, it said on the box, Natural Balance Smoothie Body Wash that Soap Free. It got blend of natural ingredients like yogurt, honey and soft almond bits + hyssop.

They have 3 different type in their range, the green one with lemongrass and ginger (which I love and think it is really suitable for the morning use), the yellow one which is shown on the photo, and pink, berry that perks me up when I'm in the mood of l-o-v-e.

What I love about them is: Natural Ingredients, gentle to the skin (I think it's yummy enough to be eaten), got herbs and minerals, nice decorations on their packaging like they really doing some effort to show the goodness inside and last but not least what it does to my skin. Smoooothhhh effect :)

My first love, there's only you in my life

the only things that's.....right? Yup they are rightly suitable for me. The soothing lotion from Caron is the best lotion for me after waxing, it's calming my skin perfectly and prevent ingrown. During shaving I often suffer ingrown that really bothers and irk me. But with this lotion, even shaving is fun now. It got all the natural ingredients including Tea Tree oil, a powerful yet gentle anti-bacterial agents. For me it's a must have after waxing.

And for the daily use: Kiehl's my love for a body lotion come true, I love the refreshing scent, the long lasting moisturizing effect it just complement my skin condition in every way it can. One teeny tiny problem, maybe they should make it a tube version since the pump are now stuck with still half full ( yes, I'm a positive person, not half-empty). As it is shown in the picture the pump isn't close by me, I have to open it up and bottom's up for my daily use, troublesome and messy since the pump isn't working.

I remember Superbly Restorative Argan Body Lotion gives my skin the comfort it need, here's what I got from the official website:

Superbly Restorative Argan Body Lotion

This lightweight, readily absorbed lotion helps to restore softness and tonicity for radiant, healthy-looking skin. Blended with Moroccan Argan Oil and Argan Leaf Extract, our naturally preserved formula is enriched with antioxidants and essential fatty acids to help optimally hydrate and reinforce skin's defenses against free-radical damage and help to improve texture and tone.

And do you know what I think? Correct every word. It's like my skin become bouncier, supple, firmer, toned and really look healthier and the difference you can see from the first use. First day is hydration and the next days comes like healing process and weeks goes by the skin looks radiant, glowing and the daily routine also wonderful thanks to the fresh citrus-ey scent. Can a body lotion be better than this?

This is not just a decoration dude and dudette!

I'm tired of people who's been so inconsiderate, there's only like 4 -6 seats every each train for people who really need it and yet you still steal their rights. Hello!!!! Is your leg are weaker than akongs and amas and those pregnant women or young children, come on! I've been a witness to monks try to steal seats from young children, young ladies steal seats from old people, steal?? YUP. what else then? They clearly know they are going to that seat and those people are in front of them yet you all upbeat them even pushed them to get to your seat, the only thing I haven't see is tackle from their back or pulled their hair. Which is if I haven't see, someone else probably did.

Am I going overboard?? I don't think so. I've seen this kind of act daily at the nearest MRT station or Bus, and those lovely hugging couple, GIVE ME A BREAK!!!! Look around, aren't you ashamed? what if your mommy and daddy see what u did? And the best thing is will you guys still doing that after you got married (or even last that long to the marriage status). Slow down a little you ain't proving anything to anyone. Even when I'm in western country most of the people doing those hugging and kissing are MARRIED couple.

So please ohhh bee-have ladies and gentlemen. I know, I know your life are tough, aren't we all are, if not we wont be taking public transportation. We will be taking private jet instead.

Chrismas has come

Just like the mall above me at Bt. Batok area, every mall in Singapore have dressed up for the season. With all the blings of glitter and lights and all those Santas. All those years of telling the kids there's no such thing as Santa is really messed up from all of these decoration. Do they really out of ideas that the Santa need to be there, in most malls??

Well for me, if I have a mall (:) giggling already by my own words) I'll definitely get new ideas. Christmas is still about hope, love, giving and caring. So gift boxes with numerous variations and of course make it more Singaporean style. Christmas does linger with western culture but the spirit we can all share as human being. Perhaps more giving, more love to the customer than just a cold heart-ed decoration that meant almost hmm nothing. Be real, be sincere and make it come true.

I know a decoration wouldn't hurt, I do admit I do love all those pretty lights. But instead of those vaguely empty words how about slogan like, "Christmas is a time for giving, have you give a gift, yet?" or maybe Make a giant Christmas Tree where everyone who donated can put their card and write what have they done, yes givers should be appreciated and make 'headlines', everyday we read in the newspaper how criminals get a page or two, but this season let's all the givers be acknowledge for their kindness and generosity. Or for the shy one can play secret guardian angels where you can donate to certain people without their knowing the identity of the givers.

So this Christmas try to give more than indulge :)

Q&M

I started to go to Q&M Bt. Gombak branch about 2 years ago before being transferred to the Bt. Batok branch since they have a surgeon there. Yup, my teeth need more professional help than I think it is.

It seems like nothing is good enough, keep filling in, keep brushing, flossing, and now the dentist wants me to to inter-dental cleaning daily with those tiny but somehow give me a jitter (in fear). How come those artist, famous people have brilliant white perfect teeth with their busy schedule? I brush 3 times a day and seems not good enough for my teeth, well I know I'm not the only one that's perfectionist here, my teeth does it too.

for the first time

After doing the routine for the first time day and night I can feel my skin is already started to change. The texture is more soft, dewy and I can feel there's less bump on my facial skin. I really like and enjoy my new range now. It does seems a lot for a complete set, I numbered them on the bottle so I now their sequence.

Some of the range need time so it can be fully absorbed like the essence, or maybe because the layering is getting thicker and thicker but surprisingly it is not heavy like all those layers are penetrate into my skin and the rest is keeping guard outside to make sure my skin stay protected.

Since the complexion is better my skin looks more radiant and whiter. I am now more eager to wait what will happen in the next 3-4 weeks when I completed the range.

Renew Challenge

The Renew Challenge is officially started for me. I just use it for the first time today. As I opened the lid of each bottle I get more and more excited. I love how these small blue bottles will change my looks in a matter of a month. I have my high expectation on them since Ms. Song He Gyo herself believe in. Look how gorgeous her skin is in the website and on all her movies (+ commercials).

Okay here I start: the first one is toner, which is the first time I use a gel like toner, it glide so smooth to my skin, I didn't use cotton because as I notice in all Korean Drama they use their hand and tap all the nutrients ingredients in, they claim it's the best way to use a toner. So I did. I like it, I find it amusing.

The second part is the emulsion, massage a little bit to make it more absorptive. And by doing so I notice my facial skin is far away from smooth. I feel a lot of bumpiness here and there.

The third part is essence, massage and tap is the key.

4th is for the eyes area, separate from day and night to keep the dark cirlce, wrinkle, and puffiness away.

Last but definitely not least is the moisturizer which is a cream like but feels like a gel that can easily penetrate to my skin, love it, I really do, feels cool and fresh at the same time gives moisture (after all it is a moisturizer) ;p

Update: Unfortunately the link I gave you regarding the Renew Challenge has been no longer existed (I should have save a copy), nevertheless you can still enjoy my review ^__^

A trip to remember...

I know I know it's not what most people expected to see when I say the word it's our trip to the Istana President Singapore. But that's what impressed me the most. Luscious greens that are really really green wherever I see. Istana open every public holiday, it's free for Singapore citizens and PRs but since I'm a foreigner I have to pay 2$ per person. But It worth-ed since the money goes to donation just remember to bring along your IC or passport.

There are some tips I wanna share here:
1. Ladies, leave those stilettos at home, walk, walk, and again walk through a lot of 'nature' pavement.
2. Bring those umbrellas, wear sunblock, sunglasses and hats if necessary (as if you most definitely go there when the sun is still up or rain).
3. Prepared yourself with lost of drinks, cold stuff, anti-bug patch (again as in nature=plants, trees, grass)
4. Camera need to be charged (fully charged) as in a lot of scenery for the garden to the Istana and the occasional meet and greet Mr. President himself.
5. Snacks in case you are hungry.
6. Pee before going in here as in this is not a mall (nearest mall is Plaza Singapura, visit them first)
7. Kids have playground here, it's fun and it seems the coordinator really know how to entertain the young ones.

And one more thing, enjoy!!! It's not like you gonna live there everyday :)

Bad service Bad attitude Bad hygiene

Don't be fooled by the words OK, as in service. I ate there 2 times this year and both of them ended up in disappointment, either the food taste bland or too hard or the rice are too dry. This time I didn't have a happy memory either. After I order the lady told me to move my tray speaking in Chinese, I replied "Sorry?", she answered me back in Mandarin, I said "what?", again she speak in Chinese in louder voice as if I'm the one that was deaf. I said " I don't understand you" and take away my tray because she start to use her hand to shoos me away like I'm a fly or something.

Again, I'm thinking am I in somewhere near Nanjiang province or SINGAPORE???

After I sit down another auntie came and said something in Chinese like wanting my tray but there's just so many stuff there, I asked her " what?" she just wave her hand and leave me still confused on what just happen there.

Then there I am (finally) sitting quietly after my meal have arrived, when suddenly out of the blue the auntie roll away a big trash container just about 10 cm from my food. The place is really cramped and hello, it's in lunch time where most people alive will get a bite, and the unlucky one ended up there at KOBAYASHI Hangul (CCK).

I imagine all the germs and all my agony of why do I have to go and eat there suddenly filled my head and leave that place as soon as I can.

Those people are just plain cruel, they must hate the customers and I guess now I know why they never have a lot of customer.

It's an honor - Perfect Renew

to be invited by Laneige and received this precious gift of Renew Kit for my not-so-aging-skin-but-going-to-soon. So they invited me on their workshop at Orchard Road Liat Tower #20. It last about an hour, including a free juice and a lot of smile from the staff.

The kit contain from toner, essence, to cream for face and eye, I regret there's no facial foam or cleansing regime included but they say it doesn't matter if I use an available brand (as available as in my home).

The workshop is fun, knowledgeable and the presenter is quite good in explaining the products and how she related all of it with her own experience to make us feel more related.

So now I'm suppose to use it and make a personal review and testimonial about the products I use.

C u :)

Discovery Race

I went to IMM today and see the announcement board on their store about this race, intrigue I asked around (to the staffs of course), those young ignorance staff know really nothing about good customer service, they answer blatantly, kept pointing finger about who is the person in charge and finally the person in charge only answer in a very nonchalant act of typical Singaporean "it's already started lor" and just turn her back on me without any explanation careless about a curious customer.

SO what does it meant? I can not join? When can I join? Is there any perhaps other time I can join? Maybe there's already too many people so they act they don't need anymore publication.

Hear Yea Hear Yea

For Today only Pink Parlor is having a 8$ promo for any waxing done, Brazilian, underarm, and half leg. I really want to join but the queue and my timing is not suitable, as if I don't want to queue for hours for it with my child kept on asking are we done yet, are we done yet, are we done yet???

But if I have the privileged of time I will do it in the most definite way since the first 100 customer also get a 100$ worth goody bag, WOW!!!

Let's do some calculating first, a person take about 20-30 minutes waxing time, 5 people queue already took about 2,5 hours, the last time I went there they only have 2 staff and 2 rooms, I don't think anyone willing to do it in the open place, so you do the math, will they ever get 100 customer in a day??? 1 day =24 hours and they not open 24 hour they open like 12 hours (max), so????

A question that really need to be answered by the professional, mystery!

about that waxing thingy

It's the best thing that ever happen to me.

Yup it is painful, on certain area it is very painful but only last for about 10 seconds, but the result is so worth-ed. I love the extra 'breathing' area, the smoothness and dry and cleanliness feeling that last a very long time compared to shaving. And so far no ingrown.

Yes I do bought the special lotion made from tea tree specially for the newly wax skin, and perfect for the area under there. Where do I done it? Pink Parlor at Far East Plaza, a shabby place for a perfect result.

Will I do it again? Definitely

it's not just about taking longer trips

for me it's about health issue. Seriously!!! I've taken bus for my daily trips, I've been there done that. And if I have a chance I'll definitely get a car, but the thing is money is an issue for me. SO mean while I'll still be at buses and MRTs.

Again back to the topics, health issue? I've seen many times uneducated people sneeze, cough, spit inside the bus. How do I know they are uneducated? Well, i don't expect educated people do that. And here we are try to point finger then it's the passenger the one that should take the blame? think again, dude. Cushion on buses are filled with allergic materials, try fluff it if you dare and all those nasty dust and even a family of cockroach will come and sworn on anyone that dare to disturb their slumber. No need to discuss about the floor that seems always sticky and filled with dirt.

The daily news and other people complains also not making it easier for me to accept the reality of public transportation, like peeing inside the MRT, inconsiderate being sleeping on 4 chairs, and also hate the occasional cleaning the nose job and throw it to the nearest unfortunate person.

Now the issue of influenza and their species is all about too close for comfort right? Where we should avoid crowded places and try to be more private, bus and trains is our best answer? GIVE ME A BREAK!

Yes I want to have a greener world, but until that time comes I want to survive first, so my answer will be the minute I have the money to buy a car I'll definitely will. An electric one! That's my solution! Long live me healthily and happily.

What all woman should know

non others is about their health, not just their general health but their breast health. The issue here is not to scare you or be afraid but get info. In anything and everything believe it or not information is almost the key to all the problems that happens in our life. When we have info we know what we can (or some cases can not) do in our life or future.

The next one will be know the right person. There's so many doctors, health consultant or source for information and some of them can be wrong, so trust your instinct can be the next key to a better solution. I even once go to a very young doctor that insisted my ingrown needed a small surgery, but I 'insisted' a medication of antibiotics will do the trick, and I am proudly say I AM RIGHT.

So far I also encounter some doctors that blessed me with their existence, like Dr. Mona Tan from Mammocare and Dr. Selina Chua from Mt. Elizabeth. They are the nicest, caring and thoughtful doctors a woman like me can get.

I like their personal touch, their energy and excitement for life and positiveness (and I found it rare in other doctors that like to think the worst, kiasu perhaps???)

And it all started with a bang

Recently, I've been joining contest, a beauty contest or travel usually where I feel I can enjoy and it's truly what my heart desire. Sadly most of these contest is filled with people that cheats. Well, I know I can not expect everyone to be truly honest but cheaters often won and that's what really sadden me the most.

1. Are there any regulations?
2. No conscience.
3. Peace with oneself (maybe when you got your eyes all glittered by the prize)
4. No some sort of punishment or consequences.
5. More and more daring..

Those are some of the teeny bitty facts I know about cheater and what goes around them.

Companies spend thousands of dollars for contest and they seems reckless too, some kind of ignorance that maybe they just want to give prizes to whoever want it by any kind a ways. In Singapore where everything is done (mainly) according to law or social culture is a contradict in what happen in the contest 'realm' where it seems no law and everything is ambiguous.

I still like to join some contest thou' especially those that have been proven cheat-free or at least the company makes it really difficult and point-less to cheat (like a lucky draw one). Now, the contests that are being the main focus by the cheaters and scammers and hackers are voting, collecting points, using score, and many like that. I even met a person that clearly cheating but blatantly speaks like he's an angels of innocent, (correction: met as if per email) :P. As for cheaters I think they motto is, try to win as hard as they can using any methods and be as a bad example as they can to their children and perhaps then say to them: 'this is what you should avoid' and just hope, someday their children will get cheated. Remember what goes around comes around so act wisely, top prize can not buy you any happiness, temporary one perhaps, but what's happen after that is the one that anyone with their sanity on would avoid.

The Ugly Truth

The biggest turn off of all times for me is when the guy still pretty much involved with his ex. Kept sms-ing, call-ing, kept telling me his story with her, enough is enough. But that's not all, I also hate those who can't keep his behavior, like picking his nose, rude to waiter, ignore his surrounding, inconsiderate and worst of all think himself as too darn good looking (when I just give him 6 or even 5 out of 10)

That's why I love and really want to watch The Ugly Truth, and hope to get a clue about how guy really is, and this movie also talk about how different we are (men and women) and in the end how we get along and attracted to each other.

SO don't forget:
“Be a fan at the official Facebook page and catch The Ugly Truth when it opens in the cinemas on the 17th September 09!”

3 Simple Step of Clinique

Thanks to this contest by Her World Singapore magazine and Clinique Project Makeover I am able to try on their famous 3 Step Skin Care that so famous.

First they have all 150 contestant picked to collect the full size of this range. I remember going to their branch in Woodland and collect them. The staff there is so nice and she can identify my problems and really know what type my skin is. Not like the male staff in Tangs Orchard branch who diagnosed it wrong. My skin is in the category of dry, and that male staff insist I'm oily and the product sting me and doesn't suit me well. So a little advice, go to the branch on Woodland where the staff really pay attention o your skin, touch your skin, follow the chart provided by Clinique since it is proven they are correct than just see you for a glimpse and gave you wrong type of products.

I must say my skin do love Clinique 3-Step. They are gentle (I use the Liquid Facial Soap Mild, Clarifying Lotion for dry skin and Dramatically Different Moisturizing Lotion), easy to use, and the effect is immediate. My facial skin become smoother, calmer, less breakout and using make-up become so simple too since the skin are 'ready' for anything.

You can check out my entry on their page at the testimonial and on the Her World magazine in Clinique ad.
