NYX Conceal Correct Contour

Hello lovelies,

a lot of products made for contouring and highlighting nowadays and we're kinda wondering, which one suits us best. From many shades provided to brands and prices too. Some of us thought that the higher the price is the better the quality of the product will be, well, that can be true for some, but that doesn't always be the case.

Brand such as NYX provide a good quality wearable makeup with fraction of the price from the pricey brands. Some even say they work better. For me, it's more to the 'how' you're using it and 'how' good you're handling it. Like some hefty price product may blend easier and gives the skin that natural look with an 'oomph' effect, or added skincare, known as infused makeup, while cheaper one gives basic with somewhat similar result but without an 'oomph' effect.

Highlights can be as simple as a 'fairer' shade but on other product, they can give that radiant effect as well. The key is to find the one that suits you best.

NYX Conceal Correct Contour, is one of the brand that enable me to have a contoured skin with a fair highlighted effect as a basic for my makeup.

Above is an image of me using NYX Conceal Correct Contour. As seen, it blends really well and amateur proof.

Below are the swatches with the same order as above.

No. 1 Matches my skin tone perfectly, suitable as a concealer on area such as under the nose and on the facial skin (overall excluding under the eyes).

No.2. Similar to No.1 with a brighter tone, suitable for areas that I want to look brighter such as forehead, inner cheek, nose bridge and chin.

No.3 A yellowish shade which I can use under the nose, eyes, and around the lips too

No.4 The deepest tone in this set, I'm using it as a shading, to deepen the area under the cheek bones, on the sides of the nose and on the outer circular area of the face. So the face appear smaller with an oval (egg-shaped) 3D finish.

No.5 The highlight, to be used on the nose bridge, under the eyes and lower middle forehead area. This is the perfect shade for the area to 'pop' out.

No. 6 The pinkest of them all, I can use it on the upper cheeks with the highlights and right above the shading for a more natural gradation to the skin tone.

I can choose to use them all, or just a few. The product is blendable and it is best to be used on a moist skin. So I prefer to use it right before foundation (after skincare) for a more natural look or right after foundation for a not so seamless contour and highlights (this is the best option for a photo shoots).

Above is my before look, so I just put on a CC Cream right after skincare, so the skin is still pretty much moist.

-*-

Then some highlights (No. 5) on area such as under the eyes, nose bridge, middle lower forehead, below the nose and chin.

-*-

After the highlights, I put on some of the deepest shade (no.4) as a shading on the sides of the nose, all the way to the inner eyebrows, under the cheek bones, and to accentuate the jaw lines and yes, I do apply them very thinly.

This product is best to be applied using fingers and sponge instead of brush.

-*-

Then I'll gently blend the highlights first and then the deep shade.

-*-

We may keep blending them until we get the right feature. It is best to blend on the outer side of the shades, like when blending the nose bridge, let the inner part of the highlights remain as fair as possible and the outer layer be gently blend on to the deep shade, so there's a gradation of colors instead of mixing everything.

For highlights, choose a shade lighter than your complexion and for contouring, choose 2 shades darker.

Those who are fair may focus on contouring while those who have dark skin may focus on highlighting.

These are the result of the finish makeup look in multiple angle, using the base from NYX Conceal Correct Contour kit in Light.

-*-

Just by using the highlight and a faint contouring, my skin appear fairer, perhaps other time, I'll use more than just those two.

Overall,

NYX Conceal Correct Contour is a wonderful product that comes with a friendly price that do gives result. The product is blendable but can be a bit cakey, so I advice in using it little by little and on moist skin.
